My graphics and vertical video content for The Huntington News, Northeastern's independent student newspaper, won first place in social media portfolio in the college division of the New England Newspaper & Press Association's 2025 Better Newspaper Competition. See my submitted work below.

During a 48-hour pro-Palestinian encampment on Northeastern's campus, as social media editor for Northeastern's student paper, I produced photos, videos, graphics and live updates across Instagram, Facebook and X. We totaled 200K Instagram impressions and 1 million X impressions throughout the protest. Our coverage won third place nationally in social media reporting in the 2024 Associated Collegiate Press awards.

The Huntington News

As social media editor for The Huntington News from May 2024 to April 2025, I redesigned our Instagram/Facebook graphics and implemented a social strategy focused on highly visual and narrative-centered storytelling. I incorporated animation into posts for data stories and trained a team of five social staff to strengthen their graphic design and animation skills on Canva. For Instagram Stories, I introduced a weekly news quiz; "editor's picks" selected/written by section editors; and live updates for developing stories. I tightened turnaround time for breaking and developing social posts, which helped establish The News' socials as a trusted, go-to source for the Northeastern community. Over my tenure as social editor, The News' Instagram following grew by 125% and link clicks grew by 500% — a significant increase in our social referral traffic.
